School districts with the highest Asian American population shares are found in Silicon Valley (Cupertino, Fremont, Saratoga), the San Francisco Bay Area, suburban New York (including parts of Queens and Nassau County), and Hawaii. Several Bay Area and New Jersey districts have Asian community populations exceeding 50%. These communities tend to have very high educational attainment and median incomes, creating well-funded school environments with intense academic expectations. The Asian American community is also highly diverse in national origin, class, and educational background, meaning aggregate statistics mask significant variation among Chinese, Indian, Filipino, Vietnamese, Korean, and other subgroups.
