School districts with the youngest community populations are found in fast-growing Sun Belt suburbs (Utah, Texas, Arizona, Florida), military communities with large numbers of active-duty families, and areas with high immigration of young families from Latin America. Districts in Utah's rapidly growing suburban corridor have median community ages below 27, reflecting the state's unusually large family sizes. Young communities bring growing enrollment, demand for new school construction, high levels of parent engagement, and diverse student bodies. They also require significant capital investment in buildings and staff to keep pace with rapid growth.
