US Metros With Most Foreign-Born Residents

The US metros with the highest foreign-born population shares are immigration gateways. Miami, San Jose, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco metros all have over 25% foreign-born residents. These metros benefit from international business connections, multilingual workforces, and immigrant entrepreneurship that tends to exceed native-born rates. The geographic concentration of foreign-born populations shapes everything from school district policy to cross-border trade flows.
