The metros with the highest work-from-home rates are tech hubs, knowledge-economy centers, and amenity-rich destinations attracting remote workers. The Boulder, San Francisco, San Jose, Austin, and Seattle metros lead nationally, with WFH shares above 18%. The remote work shift has reshaped commute patterns, downtown foot traffic, and metro-area housing demand, accelerating moves from urban cores to suburbs and exurbs.
